SAITAMA ARTS FOUNDATION MEMBERS PRESALE

Feb.19.2022 (Sat)

For the July lecture concert by Naoya Otsuka, entitled「Eve of Bach’s “The Well-Tempered”」, we will focus on Bach during his period of training, before he created the The Well-Tempered Clavier. Bach has a story of how, as a teenager, he secretly transcribed his older brother’s scores, which he was forbidden to look at, in the middle of the night under the moonlight. While thinking of the young Bach, we will enjoy the works that he is said to have transcribed and studied at that time, as well as the works that lead to the “The Well-Tempered” on organ, harpsichord, and clavichord. The guest speaker will be parchment researcher Kenji Yagi, who will talk about the paper and pens of the time and the parchment used for old musical instruments. Please don’t miss it!
