Sai-no-kuni Shakespeare Lecture Session
Special Lecture and Screening of “King Lear”
Started in 1998 “Sai-no-kuni Shakespeare Series” aims to stage all 37 plays by W. Shakespeare. The 36th production of the series “King John” was unfortunately cancelled due to the unprecedented situation of COVID-19. In the midst of this hard time, however, we decided with much delight to open doors again to our Shakespeare fans to offer a lecture session featuring “King Lear”, one of the Four Great Tragedies of The Bard. Also available during this limited period are special opportunities to watch on screen the Sai-no-kuni Shakespeare Series #19 “King Lear” directed by Yukio Ninagawa (2008). Hope you enjoy the world of Shakespeare!
