A new work by world-renowned choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, recipient of the 2025 Praemium Imperiale (Prince Takamatsu Memorial World Culture) Prize, and rising choreographer Radouan Mriziga, inspired by Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”. First presented in 2024 and becoming a Rosas favorite, this work finally makes its Japanese debut.
De Keersmaeker focuses on analyzing the music closely and constructs choreography based on the musical contexts, while Mriziga conjures movements from silence. The leaps, rotation and spinning of four dancers unfold in resonance with celestial orbits and the cycles of life. Accompanied by a hymn to nature echoing from the Mediterranean of some 300 years ago, the work poetically explores the reality of climate change we face today, while renewing the relationship between its musical structure and the body.
“90 minutes of carefully constructed dance geometry, at once nonchalant and cerebral.”

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker [dancer and choreographer] Born in 1960. In 1980, after studying dance at Mudra School in Brussels and Tisch School of the Arts in New York, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker created “Asch”, her first choreographic work. Two years later came the premiere of “Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich”. She established the dance company Rosas in Brussels in 1983, while creating the work “Rosas danst Rosas”. Since these breakthrough pieces, her choreography has been grounded in a rigorous and prolific exploration of the relationship between dance and music. In 1995 De Keersmaeker established the school P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios) in Brussels in association with De Munt/La Monnaie, and devoting herself to the education for young artists.
Radouan Mriziga [dancer and choreographer] Born in 1985 in Morocco. Radouan Mriziga studied dance in Marrakech and Tunisia, and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, from which he graduated in 2012. Since then, he worked on several productions, including “Re:Zeitung” (P.A.R.T.S. Foundation and De Munt) for which a young generation of professional dancers reworked Rosas/Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s “Zeitung”. From 2014 onwards he started creating his own work such as his first solo, “55”, and group pieces, entitled “3600” and “7”. He became an artist in residence at Kaaitheater in Brussels and at deSingel in Antwerp, and has been producing notable works including “Atlas”, “Libya”, and “Akal”. He established the A7LA5 in 2019. This marks his second collaboration with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker after “3IRD5 @ W9RK” (2020). |
