Artist Profiles

Naoya Otsuka / Positive Organ, Harpsichord, Narration

Naoya Otsuka completed his master’s degree in harpsichord at Tokyo University of the Arts and further studied harpsichord and organ at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He is an active continuo player with Ensemble Cordier, Bach Collegium Japan, and other ensembles, as well as a soloist on harpsichord, organ, and clavichord.
Otsuka is also dedicated to nurturing young musicians and promoting Baroque music by holding workshops across Japan for those new to historical keyboard instruments. He is currently a professor at Tokyo University of the Arts, a lecturer at Kunitachi College of Music, and serves as an organ project advisor for Miyazaki Prefectural Art Theater and Saitama Arts Theater. He is also the music director of Ensemble Cordier and hosts the NHK-FM radio program “Enjoying Early Music”.


Kiyomi Suga / Flauto Traverso (Baroque Flute)

Kiyomi Suga began studying the recorder and flute at age 10 under Masashi Wakabayashi. At age 16, she transitioned to the Baroque flute, studying under Masahiro Arita, Barthold Kuijken, and Marc Antai. She graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
In 1999, she won 3rd prize at the Bruges International Early Music Competition. She has performed across Europe as a member of Anima Eterna, La Petite Bande, and more.
Since returning to Japan in 2007, she has been an active member of Bach Collegium Japan, Orchestra Libera Classica, and the Renaissance flute consort Sofio Armonico.
In 2023, she served as a judge for the Kofu Early Music Competition in Yamanashi. In 2024, she released a CD, “J.S. Bach: Four Flute Sonatas”, which was recommended by The Asahi Shimbun. She is also a faculty member at Music School “Da Capo”.
