・A place to cultivate, deepen, and expand senses and sensibilities rather than knowledge and skills.
・A place to create a relaxed community centered around the theater through interactions among people with various attributes.

Saitama Arts Theater celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024 and will launch a new theater group led by Ryohei Kondo. It’s called “Company Grande.” “Grande” means “Big/Grand” in Spanish, and “Company” means “companion.” It’s a large company like a ship where people with various creative talents gather beyond age, gender, nationality, disabilities, professional, amateur, and other boundaries to explore expressions born from there.
Every aspect of daily life is included in performing arts. In “Company Grande,” while focusing on performing arts, members will gain various learnings across genres. They will bring ideas from their own lives and experiences, engage in dialogue, and experiment together towards creating works. In the space of creation and communication, they will polish their sensibilities with companions, deepen their world of expression, and explore new ways of creation for the future.

‘Company Grande’ is a ‘gathering place.’ I imagine a room where someone is always there, drawing pictures, arranging dolls, lying down, and so on. We also talk about ‘small questions in life’ or ‘the beauty of flowers.’
Not for anyone, not for even myself, but as if circling around, I want to find ‘ways to enjoy’ by indulging in fantasies, trying things out, or becoming a big ensemble.
We don’t need skills, pretense, or conformity. In the gathering place in the theater, I would like to embark on such a journey.”

・ Studio Work 2 Date: August 1 (Thu) – 4 (Sun) Content: “Workshop A La Carte 1” (Selection-based: Approximately 1 to 3 hours)
・ Studio Work 3 Date: September 10 (Tue) – 14 (Sat) Content: “Workshop A La Carte 2” (Selection-based: Approximately 1 to 3 hours)
・ Studio Work 4 Date: November 20 (Wed) – 24 (Sun) Content: ” Experimental Workshop 1 ” (Selection-based: Approximately 1 to 3 hours)

*The performers for the March results presentation will be selected from the company members after consultation with the individuals, based on their participation in the studio work. Not all company members will perform in the presentation. Regardless of the opportunity to present, we are recruiting those who can enjoy exploring expression together. |
